# HongCoin ICO Bug Resolved After Nine Years, 1,003 ETH Recovered

Florent announced the recovery of approximately 1,003 ETH, valued at around $2 million, from a 2016 HongCoin ICO contract. According to NS3.AI, a bug had prevented refunds for nine years after the initial sale did not meet its target. The HongCoin team facilitated the recovery by signing the unlock transactions through its multisig.
