# Chinese innovative drugs shine at the 2026 ASCO! AKESO's combination chemotherapy with Yvoxi reduces the risk of patient death by 34%! The Hong Kong innovative drug ETF GF (513120) rose nearly 3% during trading, with AKESO's weight in the underlying index exceeding 9%

On June 1st, the innovative drug sector surged strongly, with AKESO rising over 10%, 3SBio rising over 6%, and WuXi AppTec rising over 5%.

The GF CSI HK Innovative Drugs Industry ETF (abbreviated as: HK Innovative Drugs ETF GF, fund code 513120) tracking the HK Innovative Drugs Index, rose nearly 3%.

At the 2026 "Global Top Oncology Conference" ASCO, AKESO announced the overall survival (OS) results of the HARMONi-6 study for first-line treatment of advanced squamous NSCLC with Ivosidenib combined with chemotherapy, which enrolled a total of 532 patients. The Ivosidenib + chemotherapy group showed significant OS benefits compared to the Tislelizumab + chemotherapy group.

The head-to-head PD-1 monoclonal antibody achieved superior OS, further validating the value of the dual antibody mechanism. With a median follow-up of 21.4 months, the mOS in the Ivosidenib group reached 27.9 months, compared to 23.7 months in the control group, with a 34% reduction in the risk of death (HR=0.66, 95%CI 0.50-0.87, P=0.0017, less than the threshold of 0.0049), reaching the pre-set statistical significance boundary. The 24-month OS rates were 64.7% vs 48.6%, with survival curves continuing to separate, showing a clear trend of long-term benefit.

Insiders stated that this research result, with robust Phase III head-to-head clinical research data, redefines the gold standard for first-line treatment of sq-NSCLC and establishes a new benchmark for clinical benefits, marking a milestone in China's innovation driving the improvement of global cancer treatment levels.

AKESO's 2024 performance materials cited a report from Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research dated February 28, 2025, stating that the potential global peak sales of Ivosidenib could reach $53 billion.

In addition, at the 2026 ASCO conference, domestic innovative drugs occupied the center stage of academia with multiple breakthrough studies, achieving a leap from "quantity breakthrough" to "quality leadership." According to statistics from YaoYuan, 13 studies from 12 Chinese innovative drug companies were selected for the most significant plenary sessions and latest breakthrough abstracts (LBA), setting a historical high. Based on the disclosed abstracts, domestic innovative drugs cover mainstream and cutting-edge molecular forms such as monoclonal antibodies, dual antibodies, multi-antibodies, ADCs, and dual-antibody ADCs, achieving breakthroughs in multiple fields including lung cancer, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal tumors.

Century Securities' research report pointed out that this conference showcased a distinct characteristic of simultaneous quantity and quality improvement among Chinese innovative drug companies, with 13 Chinese studies selected for the latest breakthrough abstracts (LBA), setting a historical high; 94 Chinese studies selected for oral presentations, covering various drug types such as dual antibodies, ADCs, TCEs, and multiple cancer types including lung cancer, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal tumors. This series of data releases marks that Chinese innovative drugs are moving towards global source innovation, at a juncture where the global cancer treatment paradigm is transitioning from the era of monoclonal antibodies + chemotherapy to the iteration of second-generation IO dual antibodies/ADCs combined therapy, with domestic innovative drugs gaining recognition from MNCs due to their differentiated platform capabilities As of 9:37, the Hong Kong Innovative Drug ETF by GF (513120) rose over 1% during the session; among the top ten weighted stocks, Innovent Biologics rose 0.3%, AKESO rose 9.23%, BeiGene rose 0.9%, WuXi Biologics rose 5.4%, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group rose 3.33%, China National Pharmaceutical Group rose 2.4%, Hansoh Pharmaceutical rose 2.23%, WuXi AppTec rose 1.53%, 3SBio rose 6.92%, and Crystal International Holdings rose 1.21%.

The fund continues to receive inflows.
