# Analyst Darkfost: BTC Futures Market Yet to Recover from Major Liquidation

On-chain analyst Darkfost has highlighted that the Bitcoin (BTC) futures market has not fully rebounded from a significant liquidation event that occurred on October 10 of last year. According to NS3.AI, during this event, open interest on major exchanges plummeted by 71,000 BTC in a single day. Darkfost noted that positions with a nominal value exceeding $11 billion were liquidated during this period.
