Meta launches paid business intelligence tools, aiming to replicate "precision marketing" style growth According to Zhitong Finance APP, Meta (META.US) announced on Wednesday local time the launch of a new feature, Meta Business Agent. This AI agent is designed for businesses of all sizes, capable of answering customer inquiries, recommending products, scheduling services, and filtering and identifying potential customer leads. The agent can also search chat histories and compile a "morning briefing," providing businesses with important information and insights from relevant conversation threads. In the future, the agent will further expand its capabilities to perform tasks such as market research, product insight analysis, and providing "competitive intelligence." Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated, "Today I officially launch the Meta Business Agent, helping businesses of all sizes equip themselves with dedicated agents to connect with customers and assist in daily operations. Now, a small clothing store in Birmingham or a bakery in São Paulo can compete with large brands, providing highly customized customer service around the clock." The Meta Business Agent is currently open to select businesses, including several applications under Meta, such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. For years, WhatsApp has been an important communication platform for businesses of all sizes worldwide. Now, Meta is integrating artificial intelligence into it, aiming to transform WhatsApp into a practical workflow software suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. Meta will introduce a search engine feature powered by the business agent in WhatsApp. Users will be able to search for and discover businesses more conveniently using information such as business names, phone numbers, or contact names. Meta stated in a press release that over one million businesses are already using the Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp and Messenger, responding to customer needs around the clock. Additionally, Meta has launched the Meta Business Agent platform, an agent platform that helps businesses build, customize, and deploy their own business agents at scale. Analysts believe that Meta's launch of the business agent is one of its efforts to open up a significant new revenue source for its social applications. By the fourth quarter of 2025, the revenue generated from businesses paying to use WhatsApp to communicate with customers is expected to exceed $2 billion on an annualized basis. However, compared to Meta's total revenue of about $200 billion last year, this is still a small portion. Meta plans to include this agent in some of its WhatsApp Business Premium subscription packages and charge businesses that use the agent. The company noted that large enterprises will pay fees based on the number of tokens they use. Meta is seeking to reduce its reliance on advertising revenue, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to explore new income streams, and is turning its attention to the booming AI agent market. Since Facebook launched its precise user advertising business in 2007, Zuckerberg has built a mature profit system relying on online advertising. Currently, nearly 98% of Meta's revenue still comes from advertising, and the company's attempts in the digital product and physical goods sales sectors have repeatedly faced setbacks Although AI has helped solidify its core advertising business, Mark Zuckerberg has larger AI layout goals, aiming to compete with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google in the cutting-edge large model research and upper-level commercialization service market. Over the past year, Zuckerberg has significantly adjusted Meta's AI strategy, investing heavily to poach top talent from competitors like OpenAI and Google, and released the Muse Spark model in April this year. Zuckerberg stated that Meta is currently "building intelligent agent capabilities" that can perform advanced business tasks, such as providing customer acquisition and revenue growth plans, organizing competitive intelligence in the industry, and conducting real-time reviews of business strengths and weaknesses. He said, "As our self-developed large models iterate and upgrade, the work that intelligent agents can undertake will increase, ultimately achieving full management of the entire operational chain of the enterprise." ### Related Stocks - [META.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/META.US.md) - [FBL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/FBL.US.md) - [METW.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METW.US.md) - [METD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METD.US.md) - [METU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METU.US.md) - [OpenAI.NA](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/OpenAI.NA.md) - [GOOG.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOG.US.md) - [GOOGL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/GOOGL.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Meta's Metaverse lead quietly left four months ago](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288627064.md) - [What Is Going On With Meta Platforms Stock On Wednesday?](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288607828.md) - [China toughens rules on outbound investment after Meta-Manus contention](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288202677.md) - [Clearstead Advisors LLC Increases Holdings in Meta Platforms, Inc. $META](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288682790.md) - [Meta (META) Is Funding a Smart Glasses Bet.
