# Walmart Launches Walmart+ in Canada

Walmart (WMT, Financials) is taking Walmart+ outside the U.S. for the first time with the launch of the membership program in Canada.

The move gives Canadian customers access to an all-in-one service that combines delivery, shipping and entertainment benefits for $8.97 per month.

For Walmart, the launch is a test of whether its membership model can work beyond its home market. Walmart+ has become an important part of the company's effort to deepen customer loyalty, compete with Amazon Prime and drive more digital engagement.

Canada is a logical first step. Walmart already has a large retail footprint in the country, giving it the store network and logistics base needed to support faster delivery and online orders.

The international launch also shows how retailers are using paid memberships to keep shoppers connected across stores, e-commerce and digital services.

For investors, the rollout is not likely to change Walmart's results overnight. But it could become more meaningful if the company expands Walmart+ into more markets.

The next test will be customer adoption in Canada and whether Walmart can use the program to increase repeat spending.
