# Edward Snowden Participated in Zcash’s Early Design and Creation, Cypherpunk Says

Cypherpunk, a ZEC treasury company, said in a post on X that Edward Snowden participated in the early design and creation of Zcash (ZEC). According to Odaily, the post described Zcash as one of the earliest projects to achieve large-scale application of zero-knowledge proofs (ZK proofs). Cypherpunk added that Zcash has long-term accumulation in privacy computing, as well as in security and cryptographic foundations.
