# Key Events Next Week: SpaceX IPO, Apple WWDC, US and China Inflation Data

**Overview of Major Financial Events for the Week of June 8 - June 14 (All times in Beijing Time):**

Next week (June 8-14), global capital markets will welcome the year's most intensive "Super Event Week."

**In the technology sector, three major events will ignite on the same day.** The largest IPO in history—SpaceX—is scheduled to price on June 11 and list on June 12, raising $75 billion from the market with a valuation of $1.77 trillion, pushing Musk's net worth close to the trillion-dollar mark. Meanwhile, Apple's WWDC developer conference will convene, with JPMorgan expecting a significant overhaul of Siri; the launch of a standalone app and integration with Google's Gemini model could be highlights. Furthermore, two star AI stocks in the Hong Kong market, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS and MiniMax, are expected to be included in the Hang Seng TECH Index on June 8. With a combined weight of 5%-7%, this will bring passive capital inflows of $1.25 billion to $1.75 billion, though the pressure from the July lock-up expiration should not be overlooked.

**On the macroeconomic front, inflation data from China and the US will be released sequentially.** US May CPI is expected to rise to 4.1%, becoming the peak for the year, while core CPI is expected to remain moderate. China's CPI is projected to rise year-on-year to around 1.4%, and PPI may rise to 3.5%. Additionally, the European Central Bank is expected to hike rates by 25 basis points, while the Bank of Canada is expected to hold rates steady, further exacerbating the divergence in global monetary policies.

**Other highlights include the official opening of the 2026 USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup on June 11**, held concurrently with the Huawei Developer Conference, the Shanghai Carbon Neutrality Expo, and the Asian Consumer Electronics Show. Huahong Company will also officially change its name. Earnings reports from Oracle and Adobe are also worth watching.

## Economic Indicators

- **China's May Import/Export, CPI, and PPI**

China's May import data will be released on June 9, followed by China's May CPI and PPI data on June 10. Next week, China's May financial data will also be published.

**Regarding inflation,** Huachuang Securities expects PPI to rise year-on-year from 2.8% to around 3.5%, and CPI to rise year-on-year to around 1.4%. The year-on-year increase in CPI is driven by two factors: first, food prices may perform better than seasonal trends, with policy support improving expectations and pork prices stabilizing; second, the base effect from the same period last year was relatively low.

**Regarding financial data,** direct financing deserves close attention. New aggregate financing to the real economy (AFRE) in May is expected to reach RMB 1.4 trillion, a decrease of RMB 700 billion compared to the same period last year. The growth rate of outstanding AFRE is expected to be around 7.5%. M2 year-on-year growth in May is expected to be around 8.3%; M1 under the new scope is expected to grow year-on-year by around 4.6%.

**Regarding imports and exports,** Huachuang Securities expects May exports in USD terms to grow year-on-year by around 10%, and imports by around 19%. The Middle East continues to drag down exports, with a significant year-on-year decline in the number of cargo container ships sent from China to four Middle Eastern countries in May. Mid-stream demand is expected to maintain high prosperity, and the performance of the electronics supply chain may remain prominent.

- **US May CPI and PPI**

US May CPI and PPI will be released on June 10 and June 11, respectively.

The market expects that, affected by rising gasoline prices, the overall US May CPI year-on-year may rise to 4.1%, potentially becoming the peak for the year. However, the month-on-month increase in core CPI is expected to be only 0.24%, indicating moderate performance. Regarding PPI, the overall US May PPI year-on-year is expected to jump to 6.5%, with rising transportation costs being the main driver. The market's focus lies on whether consumers' cautious attitude can continue to suppress broader price upward pressures, despite external shocks from energy and metal prices.

- **Q1 GDP Data for Japan and South Korea**

Japan's Q1 GDP data will be released on June 8, and South Korea's Q1 GDP data will be released on June 9. The market is focusing on the growth resilience of both economies against the backdrop of changing external demand, particularly the extent of domestic demand recovery in Japan and the driving role of semiconductor exports in South Korea's economy. Additionally, the transmission effect of exchange rate trends of the Japanese Yen and Korean Won on terms of trade is also an important observation point for assessing future economic momentum.

- **ECB and Bank of Canada Interest Rate Decisions**

The European Central Bank and the Bank of Canada will announce their interest rate decisions between June 10 and 11. The market expects the ECB to shift towards a 25 basis point rate hike, with attention focused on whether Lagarde will signal another rate hike in September or July. The Bank of Canada is expected to hold rates steady, with its governor emphasizing that inflationary pressures are under control and that maintaining a moderately accommodative policy stance in the short term is appropriate.

## Financial Events

- **The Largest IPO in History Arrives! SpaceX to Officially List**

SpaceX is expected to begin issuance and determine the final price on June 11. It is scheduled to officially list on June 12, with shares trading on the Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas exchanges under the ticker symbol "SPCX." Additionally, it is reported that on June 11, SpaceX plans to hold a large investor event, inviting 1,500 retail investors to participate.

SpaceX plans to issue approximately 555.6 million shares at $135 per share, raising $75 billion, corresponding to a market capitalization of nearly $1.77 trillion. **The $75 billion fundraising scale will easily surpass the $29.9 billion IPO record set by Saudi Aramco in 2019, becoming the largest listing in global history.**

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, calculated at an issue price of $135, **Musk's net worth will reach $988 billion, just one step away from becoming the world's first "trillionaire." A mere 2.2% increase in the stock price to $138 would bring about this historic moment.**

- **Apple WWDC Developer Conference, Upgraded Siri Potentially Released**

Apple's 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2026) will be held from June 8 to 12 local time (June 9 to 13 Beijing time).

JPMorgan expects that **Apple's "AI moment of truth" is approaching. Apple is expected to announce a major overhaul of Siri at WWDC, with Siri likely launching as a standalone app.** The underlying model may switch from self-developed to Google's Gemini, while simultaneously offering users multiple third-party AI model choices, meaning ChatGPT will no longer be the only external option. In terms of product lines, a foldable iPhone and a touchscreen Mac may debut simultaneously, while the iPhone 18 series might see a price increase of approximately $50.

- **KNOWLEDGE ATLAS and MiniMax Expected to Be Added to Hang Seng TECH Index**

**The two strongest performing IPO stocks in the Hong Kong market—KNOWLEDGE ATLAS and MiniMax—are expected to be added to the Hang Seng TECH Index starting June 8, with a combined weight of 5%-7%, bringing approximately $1.25 billion to $1.75 billion in passive capital inflows.** The Stock Connect channel will also gradually open up.

However, the true stress test is the July lock-up expiration wave: KNOWLEDGE ATLAS has 5.83% of shares unlocking, and MiniMax has nearly 50% unlocking, putting the liquidity premium to the test.

- **World Cup Opening**

The 2026 USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, local time.

- **8th Asian Consumer Electronics Show Opens in Beijing**

CES Asia 2026 (8th Asian Consumer Electronics Show) will be held in Beijing from June 10 to 12.

- **2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo Opens**

The 2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Technology, Products, and Achievements Expo will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from June 10 to 12.

- **Huawei Developer Conference Held June 12-14**

Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2026 will be held in Songshan Lake, China, from June 12 to 14, 2026.

- **JAXA to Launch H3 Rocket**

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will launch the H3 rocket on June 10.

**Oracle will hold its fiscal year 2026 fourth-quarter earnings conference call at 4:00 PM Central Time on June 10. This corresponds to 6:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, 2026, Beijing Time.**
