# NVIDIA and LG Group Announce Joint Construction of AI Factories Covering Robotics, Data Centers, and Autonomous Driving

NVIDIA and South Korea’s LG Group have announced the joint construction of AI factories, with cooperation spanning robotics, autonomous driving, data centers, and GPU cloud services. This partnership will provide the underlying computing power support for the AI transformation of multiple core businesses under the LG Group.

In an announcement on June 7, both parties stated that **the AI factory will provide accelerated computing infrastructure for the LG Group, covering subsidiaries such as LG Electronics, LG Uplus, LG CNS, LG Innotek, and LG Energy Solution, for the training, simulation, validation, and deployment of AI applications.** This collaboration combines NVIDIA’s full-stack, end-to-end AI factory platform with LG Group’s global layout in consumer electronics, robotics, mobility components, and data center technologies. The plan is to integrate AI model development, physical AI data generation, robot simulation training, edge deployment, and factory-level digital twins into a unified workflow.

The broad scope of the cooperation has resulted in deep integration between multiple industrial sectors of the LG Group and NVIDIA’s core AI technology platforms, including the NVIDIA DSX AI factory architecture, the NVIDIA DRIVE autonomous driving platform, and the Isaac robotics framework. This marks LG Group’s systematic embedding of NVIDIA’s computing ecosystem into the core technology roadmaps of its businesses.

Furthermore, the cooperation extends to the development and commercialization of EXAONE, South Korea’s sovereign AI model. NVIDIA will provide computing power support to LG AI Research to promote the widespread deployment of EXAONE in LG Group’s enterprise-level businesses.

## Robotics and Physical AI: From Virtual Simulation to Autonomous Manufacturing

**In the field of robotics, LG Electronics is developing a home robot named CLoiD to handle various indoor household tasks.** Both parties plan to integrate the NVIDIA Isaac Sim and NVIDIA Isaac Lab open robotics frameworks into LG’s development workflow, enabling simulation, training, and validation in physically accurate virtual environments.

LG Electronics also plans to introduce the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T open inference vision-action-language model to endow its home robots and modular robot platforms with human-like reasoning capabilities, thereby equipping them to perform complex tasks. The two parties also plan to jointly develop reference robots to incorporate LG robots into the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T ecosystem.

To address the shortage of robot training data, LG Electronics is building a physical AI data factory, utilizing the NVIDIA Cosmos world foundation model for synthetic data generation and augmentation, providing high-quality training data for robotics and industrial AI projects for companies in South Korea and globally. LG CNS is accelerating AI adoption in logistics and manufacturing by integrating NVIDIA’s robotics technology stack—including the Isaac open framework, the NVIDIA Cosmos open world model, and the Isaac GR00T robot foundation model—into its PhysicalWorks industrial robot platform. LG Innotek also plans to provide core robotic components, such as perception solutions optimized for NVIDIA GPU architectures.

At the manufacturing level, both parties plan to combine production technology data from LG’s global factories with NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure and digital twin technology to build an autonomous manufacturing ecosystem covering the entire process from raw material procurement, production, and logistics to customer delivery, establishing it as a new global standard for smart factories.

## AI Factory Infrastructure: Multiple Subsidiaries Align with the NVIDIA DSX Platform

In the field of data center infrastructure, multiple subsidiaries of the LG Group will collaborate around the NVIDIA DSX AI factory platform.

LG Electronics has previously engaged in certification cooperation with NVIDIA on cooling solutions, covering cooling distribution units (CDUs) and cold plates, and is further advancing collaboration on prefabricated modular design technologies to support the rapid scaled deployment of next-generation liquid-cooled AI factories.

LG Uplus, together with LG Electronics and LG Energy Solution, plans to build scalable, high-energy-efficiency AI factories based on NVIDIA DSX, integrating NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and AI factory reference architectures with LG Group’s capabilities in infrastructure, energy, and telecommunications to support future AI cloud and GPU service businesses. LG Uplus also plans to independently construct large-scale AI data centers capable of housing the latest NVIDIA GPUs; LG CNS also plans to build high-performance AI factories based on NVIDIA DSX.

LG Energy Solution plans to cooperate with NVIDIA on 800-volt DC data center energy storage solutions, advancing related work in accordance with NVIDIA’s BESS self-certification guidelines to meet the higher requirements of next-generation GPUs for data center energy systems.

## Autonomous Driving and Mobility: Aligning with the NVIDIA DRIVE Platform

In the mobility sector, LG Electronics is aligning its advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle AI systems with the NVIDIA DRIVE platform, **focusing on adapting sensors, computing, and software architectures to the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion architecture to support its product roadmap in autonomous driving, ADAS, and software-defined vehicles.**

LG Electronics also plans to adopt the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX accelerated computing platform for future mobility products, including AI cockpits and edge AI processing, further strengthening its automotive electronics portfolio and accelerating the development of AI driving solutions for global OEMs.

Leveraging its core capabilities in sensing, connectivity, and lighting solutions, LG Innotek will cooperate with NVIDIA to develop next-generation automotive components designed specifically for NVIDIA architectures, deepening its layout in the autonomous driving market.

## Sovereign AI Model EXAONE: NVIDIA Computing Power Supports Enterprise Implementation

**At the AI model level, NVIDIA and LG AI Research are engaging in deep cooperation on EXAONE.** EXAONE is one of South Korea’s leading sovereign AI models and is also available to developers, enterprises, and researchers as part of an open model family.

LG AI Research has used NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, the NVIDIA NeMo framework, and the NVIDIA Nemotron open dataset to support the development of the EXAONE model, and has adopted NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM software to build high-performance inference engines, optimizing model deployment efficiency.

Through enterprise chat service platforms such as ChatEXAONE, the LG Group is exploring broader deployment of EXAONE and agent AI technologies across its businesses. NVIDIA will continue to provide computing power support for LG AI Research’s sovereign AI models, helping the LG Group accelerate its progress in enterprise AI transformation, software-defined operations, and business productivity enhancement.
