Meta accuses the agency of violating a previous court-issued permanent injunction that prohibits it from conducting cyberattacks against the instant messaging software WhatsApp and its users. In an official blog post published that day, Meta pointed out that its WhatsApp security team recently successfully thwarted a new wave of spear phishing attacks directly linked to NSO Group. Security experts confirmed that the operation mode of these new attacks is highly similar to the previously discovered "one-click phishing activities," with the core technical method involving the deployment of malicious links to target users, tricking them into clicking and forcibly redirecting them to external malicious websites, thereby implementing unauthorized control and data theft. In response to this round of malicious activities, the WhatsApp platform took immediate countermeasures, thoroughly investigating and deactivating all test accounts and related communication groups created by NSO Group. According to judicial records, given that the spyware developed by NSO Group poses a serious threat to global civil entities and communication network security, the U.S. government previously placed it on the entity blacklist and publicly identified it as a national security threat. Last year, a U.S. federal court ruled in the case of Meta vs. NSO Group, issuing a permanent injunction requiring the agency to immediately cease all infiltration and attack activities against WhatsApp. At that time, the Israeli spyware company argued in court that the enforcement of the injunction would directly lead to the failure of its business model and trigger a bankruptcy crisis. As of now, NSO Group has not publicly responded to this latest judicial application and allegations ### Related Stocks - [META.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/META.US.md) - [FBY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/FBY.US.md) - [FBYY.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/FBYY.US.md) - [METW.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METW.US.md) - [METD.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METD.US.md) - [METU.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/METU.US.md) - [FBL.US](https://longbridge.com/en/quote/FBL.US.md) ## Related News & Research - [Meta takes legal action against Israeli spyware firm NSO](https://longbridge.com/en/news/289031562.md) - [META Stock Falls 5% as Meta Takes NSO Back to Court](https://longbridge.com/en/news/289049395.md) - [Meta Unveils Subscriptions: A New Offering With Real Growth Potential](https://longbridge.com/en/news/289053620.md) - [Meta launches enterprise-focused AI 'business agent' to automate daily operations](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288586439.md) - [Vodafone Idea, Meta launch silent mobile verification for Vi customers](https://longbridge.com/en/news/288733849.md)
