JD-SW, MEITUAN-W, TRIP.COM-S Among First Batch to Join WeChat AI Beta Program

WeChat announced that it has officially opened its AI ecosystem integration capabilities to developers, allowing them to proactively authorize access to WeChat AI via the mini-program backend.

TENCENT (00700.HK) +6.800 (+1.523%) Short selling $2.93B; Ratio 17.025% stated that, in order to provide users with a more intelligent interactive experience, the WeChat Open Platform has, while fully respecting developers’ rights and independent choices, offered convenient access to the WeChat AI ecosystem. The capability is currently in the beta testing stage.

The advantage of TENCENT partnering with JD-SW and MEITUAN-W lies in its "ownership of super traffic portals such as WeChat and a decentralized ecosystem", according to a report by National Business Daily citing retail e-commerce expert Zhuang Shuai, founder of Bailian Consulting.

Zhuang predicted that the future AI Agent market will evolve into a multi-polar landscape comprising the Alibaba camp (super agents), the ByteDance camp (traffic-driven), the Tencent camp (ecosystem synergy), and independent service providers.
