Blockstream CEO Adam Back said on June 8 that BIP-110 is technically flawed and warned that forcing its activation could split Bitcoin into a minority fork. According to BeInCrypto, BIP-110 would restrict non-monetary data in Bitcoin transactions via a user-activated soft fork (UASF) that bypasses miner consensus, but Back said it “doesn’t work” and lacks technical and ecosystem backing, rejecting comparisons to SegWit’s 2017 activation.
