# Apple's stock price fell sharply after the heavy release of Siri's artificial intelligence features

**Key Points**

1. Apple's stock price fell after the company announced new artificial intelligence software at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
2. Analysts generally gave a positive evaluation of Apple's announcements, praising the significant upgrade to Siri.
3. However, some analysts believe the event lacked major surprises, making it difficult to boost the stock price in the short term; especially since Apple did not provide a formal launch date for the new Siri AI features, only offering a beta version to developers.

Apple launched several new artificial intelligence products at the Worldwide Developers Conference yesterday. Due to the sentiment of "selling the fact," the stock fell 3% on Tuesday, potentially marking the largest single-day drop since February of this year.

Apple introduced a new development framework called "Apple Intelligence," which allows app developers to leverage Apple's self-developed AI capabilities on iPhone and Mac devices; it also released a new version of Siri based on a large language model—Siri AI. Apple also revealed that it is collaborating with Google and NVIDIA to build a cloud-based AI model that benchmarks against cutting-edge large models.

However, the capital market experienced a "buy the rumor, sell the news" reaction, with Apple's stock recording its worst single-day performance since February.

Analysts generally recognized the content of the event and highly praised the upgrade of Siri. However, many institutions pointed out that the entire event lacked unexpected major innovations, which could not drive the stock price in the short term; although developers can now experience Siri AI in the beta system, Apple has yet to finalize the official launch date.

William Power, an analyst at Baird Securities, wrote in a research report: "Although Apple outlined a complete AI development blueprint and showcased early personalized and contextual AI application scenarios, it only plans to release the Siri AI beta later this year, with no clear timeline for the full version, which is a core reason for today's intraday stock price decline."

Goldman Sachs analysts stated that Apple's deep integration of AI into its hardware ecosystem is expected to drive a new round of device replacement cycles, while Apple can monetize AI through usage limits and subscription services.

Goldman Sachs analyst Michael Wu wrote: "Features like image generation rely on high-performance cloud-based large models, hence setting daily usage limits; users can unlock higher usage quotas by upgrading to the iCloud + subscription plan, which will bring direct revenue to Apple's intelligent business."

JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee pointed out that due to regulatory constraints in various regions, the rollout of Apple's AI features in China and Europe will be delayed, and initially, only English will be supported.

In his research report, he stated: "The U.S. market will launch Siri AI this fall, which will effectively boost electronic product sales during the year-end holiday season; however, the subsequent rollout of products to other global regions and multilingual markets is a key indicator that investors need to closely monitor."

UBS analyst David Vogt believes that with the current abundance of optional AI products for consumers, Apple Intelligence is unlikely to provide users with a disruptive experience; he assesses that these new features will not fundamentally stimulate demand for Apple hardware Wogte stated: "Although this press conference announced several eye-catching AI features, we maintain our iPhone sales forecast and do not believe that the new features will significantly boost iPhone purchase demand."
