# PRECIOUS METALS | Zhaojin Mining Says It Sells Tailings Externally and Verified Fijiwa Mine Tailings

Zhaojin Mining responded to an investor question on an interactive platform about tailings at its Fijiwa mine, including whether the company should sell tailings to boost income and whether the reported tailings volume is accurate. According to Jin10, the investor cited disclosed information saying the Fijiwa mine has 18 million metric tons of tailings with an estimated gold grade of about 1 gram per ton, and that 1,300 tons of tailings ore are processed per day. Zhaojin Mining said it has external tailings sales transactions and that there was no operational decision-making mistake. The company added that its tailings resources have been verified by a third-party professional institution and disclosed in periodic reports and related announcements.
