# Callan JMB Insiders Still US$80k Away From Original Investment Value

Insiders who purchased US$165.5k worth of **Callan JMB Inc.** (NASDAQ:CJMB) shares over the past year recouped some of their losses after price gained 14% last week. However, the purchase is proving to be a costly gamble, since losses made by insiders have totalled US$80k since the time of purchase.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Trump has pledged to "unleash" American oil and gas and these 15 US stocks have developments that are poised to benefit.

## Callan JMB Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Founder Wayne Williams bought US$51k worth of shares at a price of US$1.65 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$0.82 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.

## Callan JMB Insiders Bought Stock Recently

Over the last three months, we've seen a bit of insider buying at Callan JMB. Chief Medical Officer David Croyle bought US$18k worth of shares in that time. We like it when there are only buyers, and no sellers. But in this case the amount purchased means the recent transaction may not be very meaningful on its own.

## Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It's great to see that Callan JMB insiders own 57% of the company, worth about US$2.5m. This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
