# Applied Optoelectronics tumbles 8% as optical communications stocks pull back

Applied Optoelectronics Inc (AAOI) tumbled **8%** during regular trading to **$175.64** as optical communications stocks faced a broad pullback.

Peers Lumentum Holdings and Coherent declined **3.6%** and **1.4%** respectively, while Marvell Technology bucked the trend with a **1.8%** gain. The sector had rallied broadly in the prior session, with AAOI surging more than **14%**.
