Altcoins are facing their most extreme spot-exchange selling pressure in five years, with the spot market recording net selling for 15 consecutive months, according to a CryptoQuant analysis. According to ChainCatcher, CryptoQuant analyst IT Tech said the cumulative buy-sell volume difference for altcoins excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum has fallen to its lowest negative level since records began in 2020. IT Tech noted the indicator was close to neutral in early 2025, but then turned sharply negative again and has continued to decline since.
