# Trump claims Apple will collaborate with Intel to produce chips in the United States

Former U.S. President Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday that Apple has agreed to collaborate with Intel to design and manufacture its chips in the United States.

Reports last month indicated that after more than a year of discussions, Intel had reached a preliminary agreement to produce some chips for Apple.

The deal with Intel helps Apple diversify its manufacturing base in search of more chip capacity. Currently, Apple is heavily reliant on Taiwan Semiconductor, and TSMC's advanced process production lines are being heavily occupied by AI chip manufacturers like NVIDIA and AMD
