# Lion Finance steps up buybacks as it trims share capital

An announcement from Bank of Georgia Group Plc ( (GB:BGEO) ) is now available.

Lion Finance Group PLC has continued its ongoing share buyback and cancellation programme, with Cavendish Capital Markets Limited repurchasing a total of 10,283 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange between 16 and 19 June 2026. The repurchased shares will initially be held in Treasury and then cancelled, reducing the company’s voting share capital to 43,115,434 shares and potentially enhancing earnings per share for investors.

The buyback, which has been extended multiple times since its launch in August 2025, signals management’s confidence in the group’s valuation and capital position. By shrinking the free float while maintaining robust banking operations in Georgia and Armenia, Lion Finance is reinforcing its capital management strategy and could strengthen its appeal to shareholders focused on returns and transparency under U.K. market rules.
