description: "Goldman Sachs analyst James Leigh initiated a Hold rating on Lovisa Holdings (LO7). The rating balances strong unit economics, including high gross margins and global expansion potential, against rising competitive risks from new market entrants. Earnings projections are modestly below market expectations, and the stock's discount to historical multiples is deemed appropriate given slower growth forecasts and an intensifying competitive landscape."

James Leigh has given his Hold rating due to a combination of factors, balancing Lovisa’s attractive economics with emerging risks. He recognizes that the company enjoys strong unit profitability supported by leading gross margins and efficient sourcing, and that there remains substantial scope to expand its store base globally, including opportunities created by competitor closures.

At the same time, he flags intensifying competition from new market entrants that are rapidly opening stores both in Australia and abroad, which could pressure future growth and returns. His earnings projections sit modestly below market expectations, and although the stock trades at a discount to its historical valuation multiples, he views this lower multiple as appropriate given slower forecast earnings growth and a more competitive landscape.

According to TipRanks, Leigh is ranked #11685 out of 12258 analysts.
