# Tax evasion of nearly 2.4 billion yuan, Bank of China responds: promoting rectification

Bank of China ( 03988) has been disclosed in a report by the National Audit Office for involvement in tax evasion, amounting to RMB 2.367 billion (the same below). Bank of China responded that it attaches great importance to the issues pointed out in the audit and will implement the audit rectification requirements in the next steps, continuously improving its risk management level and compliance operating capabilities.

The audit report released by the Audit Office on Tuesday disclosed tax violation issues involving Bank of China. The report pointed out that from April 2023 to August 2025, Bank of China arranged for two subordinate financial institutions to act as business channels, using a large number of its employees to contribute amounts ranging from RMB 1 to RMB 100 to "gather heads," packaging 11 private equity funds as public fund products, and utilizing the policy benefits of income tax exemption for public funds to accumulate RMB 2.367 billion
