It closed at 22,644 points, down 432 points, a decrease of 1.87%. The turnover exceeded HKD 183.4 billion. The technology index performed poorly, falling over 3% to 4,259 points. Alibaba dropped nearly 5%, briefly falling below HKD 90. AI and chip-related stocks were under pressure, with Hua Hong Semiconductor and SMIC dropping nearly 5% to nearly 7%. Apple announced price increases for some products due to a significant rise in storage chip costs, leading to declines in related concept stocks, with AAC Technologies falling over 7% and Sunny Optical, which plans to issue RMB bonds, dropping over 12%. Six new stocks were listed, with Indonesian gold mining stock Merdeka Gold closing nearly 6% lower than its IPO price, while other new stocks rose over 2% to nearly double, with Kintor Pharmaceutical performing better.
