It closed at 23,153 points at noon, up 482 points, an increase of 2.1%, with a turnover of over HKD 172.9 billion for the half-day. The Technology Index broke through 4,400 points, reporting 4,412 points at noon, with an increase of about 3.7%. ATMXJ rose over 3% to more than 7%, with Meituan showing a larger increase. Baidu rose over 7%, with news that its artificial intelligence chip company Kunlun plans to go public in Hong Kong, targeting a valuation of about USD 50 billion. Pharmaceutical and biotechnology stocks performed well, with CSPC Pharmaceutical Group rising over 10% and Innovent Biologics rising nearly 8%, making them the two blue-chip stocks with the largest increases. Insurance stocks also showed positive performance, with China Life Insurance rising about 5% and Ping An Insurance rising over 3%. Lenovo Group fell nearly 10%, making it the stock with the largest decline in both the Hang Seng Index and the Tech Index. Some financial and utility stocks fell against the trend, with CK Hutchison and HSBC Holdings dropping nearly 1% or more, and Bank of China (Hong Kong) falling nearly 2%. Three new stocks debuted on their first day of listing, with CREALIGHTS reporting HKD 165.9 at noon, nearly 46% higher than the offering price.
