# Chinese Embodied AI Startup JoyIn Bags USD73.6 Million in Latest Fundraiser Led By Ant Group

(Yicai) July 2 -- JoyIn Technology, a Chinese embodied artificial intelligence startup specializing in home robotics, has raised CNY500 million (USD73.6 million) in a funding round led by fintech giant Ant Group. In just 18 months since its founding, the company has secured financing of CNY1 billion.

Participants in this round included Geely Capital, the investment arm of automotive giant Geely Holding Group, online game developer 37 Interactive Entertainment, private equity investment firm Yuanhe Puhua and JoyIn’s existing shareholder Monolith Management, the Suzhou-based company said today.

The proceeds will mainly go toward the research and development of six core technologies, talent recruitment and global market expansion to help the firm bring embodied AI robots into real-life household applications, Joyln said.

Founded in December 2024, JoyIn launched its home companion robot M1 during the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference in November last year. To date, the company has received over 30,000 robot orders. Revenue jumped seven-fold in the first half from a year earlier, it said.

Alongside the completion of this funding round, JoyIn also unveiled its new embodied AI brand Zeroth and previewed two embodied AI products for future home scenarios, the full-size humanoid robot Jupiter and the home collaboration robot N1, aiming to explore broader applications of embodied AI technology in domestic life.

Last year, JoyIn completed three angel funding rounds totaling nearly CNY500 million (USD73.6 million), with key investors including IDG Capital and Eastern Bell Capital.

As embodied AI develops rapidly, robots are accelerating their entry into consumer-facing applications. On June 30, leading robotics firm Ubtech Robotics launched its ultra-realistic humanoid robot series, the U1, designed for emotional companionship, featuring four models, with a top price of CNY990,000 (USD145,800).
