Jason McCarthy has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, including clinical momentum and a favorable competitive landscape for GT-02287 in Parkinson’s disease. The recent FDA clearance of the IND for a phase 2 PD study, along with upcoming nine‑month phase 1b data, supports continued development and underpins his confidence in Gain Therapeutics’ lead program.

He also views the failure of Bial’s GCase activator in phase 2 as reinforcing the differentiated potential of Gain’s GCase‑targeting chaperone approach. Because GT-02287 may exert broader cellular effects through protein folding and trafficking, and compares favorably to other GCase modulators such as Vanqua Bio’s VQ-101, McCarthy sees enhanced partnering prospects and long‑term value creation, justifying his unchanged $7 price target and Buy rating.

In another report released yesterday, Roth MKM also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $8.00 price target.

GANX’s price has also changed moderately for the past six months – from $3.220 to $1.990, which is a -38.20% drop .
