# A representative from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association: The implementation of mandatory standards will break the "involution" competition in the photovoltaic industry

At the second Silicon Photovoltaic Industry Innovation Summit held today, a relevant person in charge of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association stated that mandatory safety standards and energy efficiency standards for photovoltaic modules are beneficial for regulating the competitive order of the photovoltaic industry and promoting industrial upgrading and development. In the next step, the association will work with relevant regulatory authorities to further study the specific implementation rules for energy-saving supervision based on the requirements of the mandatory standards. The photovoltaic industry now has "a ruler," which is a good start, and central state-owned enterprises have already adopted secondary and above standards in their procurement. The three mandatory national standards for energy efficiency, including the "Energy Consumption Limits for Silicon Monocrystalline Unit Products," jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, will officially take effect on January 1, 2027; the two mandatory national safety standards, including the "Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules," organized and formulated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, were officially released on May 25 and will take effect on June 1, 2027
