# Beyond the EV Hype: Phancy Group's Profit Milestone and Hong Kong's Tech Pipeline

Usually I’m tracking the latest out of Cupertino, but the broader tech and consumer landscape in Hong Kong is showing some notable momentum in 2026. The biggest shift comes from Phancy Group. The AI software provider is entering a new cycle following its rebranding. I’m told its recent financials mark a massive turning point—achieving its first full-year profitability with revenues accelerating past the RMB 7.1 billion mark.

Meanwhile, the semiconductor space is gearing up for a major public debut. Nexchip is kicking off its global offering in Hong Kong, pulling in heavyweights like Chery Automobile and Goertek as cornerstone investors. The wafer foundry is looking at a significant valuation discount compared to its mainland shares, making it a critical listing to watch this July.

On the consumer front, Star Plus Legend is venturing beyond its stronghold in the diet drink market. The company is now partnering with Unitree Robotics to build IP-driven consumer robots, an ambitious pivot to blend massive fan engagement with hardware.

**Also on my radar:**

-   **Fenbi** is doubling down on app engagement. The vocational education firm noted in its latest review that it is refusing to pump out low-quality materials, instead funneling investments into tech to boost active users.
