# VivoPower Eyes BESS Integration to Boost Earnings at Norway AI Data Center

The latest announcement is out from VivoPower ( (VIVO) ).

On July 6, 2026, VivoPower announced it is advancing a technical and commercial feasibility study to integrate a battery energy storage system at its 41.5 MW Mo i Rana data center in Northern Norway. The project aims to unlock participation in additional Nordic grid reserve markets, potentially lifting annual EBITDA by up to USD 4 million through capacity payments tied to frequency containment and fast response services.

The planned battery system would operate alongside existing demand-response enrollment, preserving full leasable capacity for AI compute tenants while improving power quality, ride-through resilience and load buffering for modern AI workloads. Located in Norway’s low-cost NO4 bidding zone, the initiative reinforces Mo i Rana’s status as a prime site for co-located storage, though any investment will depend on feasibility outcomes, board approval, tenant consultation and Norwegian regulatory clearance.

**Spark’s Take on VIVO Stock**

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, VIVO is a Neutral.

Overall score is held down primarily by weak financial performance (losses, leverage/instability, and negative operating/free cash flow). Technicals are supportive due to a strong uptrend and positive MACD, but overbought signals raise near-term risk. Valuation looks low on P/E, yet fundamentals reduce the attractiveness of that discount.
