# Consumer Stocks Mixed as Inflation, Job Outlook Remains Uncertain — Consumer Roundup

Stocks in the consumer sector were mixed amid a drop in oil prices likely to ease inflation fears, while payroll growth may be bound to slow down.

A reading of the U.S. labor market from The Conference Board receded slightly in June, suggesting slower payroll growth ahead, a gauge of employment showed. The Employment Trends Index, or ETI, slid to 106.69 in June, from a revised 106.9 in May. 

Krispy Kreme's CEO Josh Charlesworth told WSJ he is working on expanding sales through Walmart and other big retailers, while increasing efficiency and hiring human doughnut artists.
