# Samsung Electronics' operating profit for the last quarter is expected to increase 18 times year-on-year

Preliminary data from South Korea's Samsung Electronics indicates that last quarter's operating profit is expected to surge 18 times year-on-year to 89.4 trillion Korean won, approximately 58.44 billion USD, exceeding market expectations of 87.3 trillion Korean won, marking a record high for three consecutive quarters. This is attributed to the continued demand related to artificial intelligence (AI) driving up memory chip prices.

Last quarter's operating profit already accounts for the total operating profit for the three years from 2023 to 2025.

Revenue for last quarter is expected to grow nearly 1.3 times year-on-year, reaching 171 trillion Korean won.

Samsung will announce detailed performance results this month.
