# LG Energy's profits plummeted 77% in the second quarter, with weak electric vehicle demand dragging down performance

Investing.com — LG Energy Solution (KS:373220) announced estimated data on Tuesday, predicting a 77% year-on-year decline in operating profit for the second quarter due to continued weak global electric vehicle demand.

The company estimates its operating profit for April to June this year to be 113.3 billion won, a significant drop from 492.1 billion won in the same period last year, but a notable recovery from the operating loss of 207.8 billion won recorded in January to March this year.

According to preliminary performance data, the company's revenue increased by 24.8% year-on-year to 7.56 trillion won, also growing by 15.3% compared to the previous quarter.
