# Murata Discloses No Share Buybacks Yet Under Large Repurchase Authorization

The latest announcement is out from Murata Manufacturing Co ( (JP:6981) ).

Murata Manufacturing has disclosed that it did not repurchase any of its own shares during the period from June 1 to June 30, 2026, despite having authorization for a buyback program. The board had approved the acquisition of up to 75 million shares, or about 4.12 percent of outstanding stock, for as much as 150 billion yen between May 11, 2026 and January 29, 2027, but as of the end of June no purchases have been executed, indicating the company is either waiting for more favorable market conditions or prioritizing other capital allocation needs.

The absence of buyback activity so far means there has been no direct reduction in share count or immediate return of capital to shareholders under this program. Investors will likely watch upcoming disclosures to see if Murata starts using the sizable repurchase authorization, as the timing and scale of any eventual buybacks could signal management’s views on valuation and influence earnings per share, liquidity, and overall shareholder returns.

The most recent analyst rating on (JP:6981) stock is a Buy
 with a Yen12500.00 price target.
