The Ministry of Commerce guides Guangxi pharmaceutical distribution companies to fully carry out flood prevention and supply assurance for medicines

According to the Ministry of Commerce, affected by this year's No. 10 typhoon "Maysak," many areas in Guangxi are experiencing continuous heavy rainfall, with Nanning's Hengzhou City, Qinzhou's Lingshan County, and Guigang City being impacted by flooding. The Ministry of Commerce has guided pharmaceutical distribution companies to immediately organize self-rescue production and emergency supply guarantees to fully meet the medical material needs of the disaster-stricken areas.

Firstly, active self-rescue production is underway. The headquarters of YIXINTANG, DSL, and other retail pharmaceutical companies are coordinating and commanding uniformly, increasing cross-regional support and financial guarantees, organizing employees to rush to the disaster areas to assist in store cleaning, disinfection, inventory counting, and emergency delivery. Some stores that were submerged by floodwaters have resumed operations.

Secondly, emergency medical services are being provided. After completing self-rescue production, pharmaceutical distribution companies quickly transitioned to emergency services. YIXINTANG, LBX, and other companies are providing free emergency medicines for cold, disinfection, gastrointestinal issues, first aid, and snake bites to surrounding residents based on disaster relief needs.

Thirdly, the guarantee of pharmaceutical distribution is being strengthened. SINOPHARM and other companies have activated emergency plans, established emergency disaster relief teams, and are conducting emergency duty monitoring to respond to local government dispatch orders at any time. As of the night of July 7, flood prevention and water-proofing of storage warehouses and self-inspection of emergency medicine inventories have been completed. The inventory of epidemic prevention, disinfection, and first aid medicines is sufficient, and pharmaceutical distribution services in some disaster-stricken areas are gradually recovering, with no emergency transportation requests received from local governments yet.

Fourthly, the organization of medical material donations is underway. LBX has donated 28,000 pieces of medical materials for epidemic prevention, disinfection, and heatstroke prevention, with the first batch of materials delivered to the disaster area on July 7; YIXINTANG has sent the first batch of medical disinfection materials to villages downstream of the severely affected Liulan Reservoir; JD HEALTH, Tongrentang, and other companies have raised medical materials for trauma first aid, epidemic prevention, disinfection, and commonly used medicines, with the first batch of 21,000 pieces already sent to Guangxi
