Tianqi Lithium falls over 8% as lithium carbonate prices drop
Tianqi Lithium (9696.HK) tumbled over 8% during regular trading to HKD 36.36.
The decline comes as lithium carbonate futures on the mainland have fallen for consecutive days, breaking below the RMB 160,000 threshold. Everbright Futures noted that while destocking is accelerating in the short term, supply increases pose a risk in the medium term.
Additionally, Tianqi Lithium announced that its debt financing instruments were accepted for registration by the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors, with a registered amount of RMB 6 billion.
