# Pinterest (PINS) Lands on JPMorgan's List of 25 Stocks to Short in Q3 — Here's Why

Shares in Pinterest (PINS) edged lower on Friday. This came after JPMorgan (JPM) included the image-sharing and social media company in its list of 25 companies to short as the third quarter begins. The investment bank pointed to factors that could limit Pinterest's revenue growth and profitability. These include cautious spending by large advertisers and Pinterest's own investments.

Shorting a stock means betting that its price will underperform. However, unlike the Sell rating slapped on most of the stocks on the list, JPMorgan's five-star analyst Doug Anmuth kept his Hold rating on the social media company. The analyst did not set a new price target.

The "high conviction" list of stocks to short in Q3 spans several sectors including healthcare, energy, consumer goods, and financials.
