# Study finds Ethereum has low energy intensity in PoS networks, consuming 7.87 GWh per year, 2nd lowest in market-value-adjusted ranking.

According to a report from Cambridge, Ethereum consumes approximately 7.87 gigawatt-hours of energy annually. Among the proof-of-stake networks analyzed, Ethereum has been found to have the second-lowest market-value-adjusted energy intensity.
