# Solana: announces SBI Holdings partnership - 13 Jul 2026

Solana said SBI Holdings and Solana Foundation announce a strategic partnership to develop Japan-originated onchain financial markets, including JPY stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, and cross-border payments, with Solana Foundation joining SBI R3 Japan as it is renamed SBI Solana Global.

The announcement ties Solana to SBI's institutional network and Japan-facing operating footprint for regulated financial products. That can widen the scope for Solana-based issuance and payments by connecting the chain to established distribution, compliance, and market infrastructure rather than only crypto-native activity.
