# MICROPORT : TINAVI  Plans to Acquire Stake in Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics

MICROPORT (00853.HK) +0.360 (+5.187%) Short selling $6.82M; Ratio 6.941% announced that its subsidiary Suzhou MicroPort entered into a letter of intent with TINAVI (688277.SH) 0.000 (0.000%) regarding TINAVI's potential acquisition of equity interests in Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd., with the consideration to be settled through the issuance of new shares by TINAVI.

The letter of intent only represents the parties' preliminary intention regarding the potential transaction, and negotiations are still ongoing.

Currently, Suzhou MicroPort holds an 82.29% equity stake in Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd., which is accounted for as a subsidiary of the group. Shanghai MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd. is principally engaged in hip and knee orthopedic reconstruction businesses in overseas markets including the US, Japan and Europe.

MICROPORT opened 5.91% higher today, hitting an intraday high of HKD7.64. The stock now trades at HKD7.3, up 5.19%, with trading volume of 16.253 million shares and turnover of HKD119 million.
