Japanese and South Korean stock markets closed lower, with the KOSPI index plunging over 6%

Jin Shi Data reported on July 16 that the Nikkei 225 index closed down 1,915.97 points on July 16 (Thursday), a decrease of 2.79%, at 66,835.54 points; the stock Kioxia fell by 14%. The KOSPI index closed down 466.06 points on July 16 (Thursday), a decrease of 6.4%, at 6,818.35 points; the KOSDAQ index fell by 4.5%; SK Hynix fell by 11%, and Samsung Electronics fell by 8%. South Korea stated that it will soon announce measures to address the controversy over the exacerbation of stock market volatility related to leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix stocks
