# Raydium Is Becoming More Than a Solana Trading Tool

Raydium (RAY) is evolving beyond a simple Solana (SOL-USD) trading tool. As a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Solana blockchain, it helps direct crypto trading without involving centralized companies like Coinbase (COIN) or Binance. Raydium initially peaked alongside Solana, but lost momentum as overall blockchain activity slowed and trading volumes dried up.

Now that Solana is recovering, Raydium is benefiting from renewed on-chain activity while expanding its platform beyond its original role.

I am cautiously bullish on RAY. The risks remain, and the token price reflects how much ground it still needs to make up.

## **Solana Is Busier Than It Has Ever Been**

Solana processed 25.3 billion transactions in the first quarter of 2026. Weekly trading volume across its exchanges hit $11.49 billion, which was 51% higher than Ethereum's (ETH-USD) over the same period. That made Solana the most active decentralized trading venue in the world. For Raydium, which sits at the center of most of that flow, a busier Solana is simply good for business.
