The new price target from Rothschild & Co. is 55% higher than where META stock currently trades. The firm previously had a price target on Meta's shares of $900. The upgrade from Dominic Ball, a top four-star rated analyst with a 60% success rate, comes as Meta Platforms expands its artificial intelligence (AI) products and services.

Ball, who also reiterated a Buy rating on META stock, says the technology giant's heavy spending on AI is likely to pay off and position the company for a leadership role in the artificial intelligence sector. Ball sees AI growth providing Meta with more sustained growth and a wider business moat, plus higher margins and returns.

Meta Platforms has announced plans for 2026 capital expenditures of $125 billion to $145 billion, with nearly all of that money going towards its AI infrastructure buildout.
