# NRx Defense Systems Advances DARPA-Backed Depression Trial

NRX Pharmaceuticals ( (NRXP) ) just unveiled an announcement.

In April 2026, NRx Pharmaceuticals incorporated NRx Defense Systems, a Florida-based research and development subsidiary focused on neuroplastic treatments that pair D-cycloserine with robotic-enabled Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation under neuro-navigation. The new unit is intended to participate in government and non-governmental research, building on earlier phase I and II work led by the company’s Chief Medical Innovation Officer.

On July 21, 2026, NRx Defense Systems received notice from DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office that its proposed SPARC-TMS clinical trial had been selected for negotiation of a potential award, with no funding commitment yet in place.
