# 'Short-selling Legend' John Paulson: Gold in Early Stage of Long-term Bull Mkt

"Short-selling legend" and renowned investor John Paulson said he believes gold is in the early stage of a long-term bull market. As the market loses confidence in fiat currencies, demand for gold as an alternative will continue to grow.

Spot gold has recently bounced back and once again breached USD4,100 per ounce. Paulson said demand for gold continues to expand as central banks across various countries keep increasing their gold reserves, while interest in gold from the private sector also rises. Gold is replacing fiat currencies and becoming the world's most suitable reserve currency.

He said the best investment approach at present is to invest in early-stage gold mining stocks, namely companies with substantial undeveloped reserves.
