# SEC resolves Coinbase lawsuit over vanished text messages. Issues stemmed from "avoidable errors," resulting in loss of almost a year's messages from Gary Gensler.

The agreement comes after a report by a watchdog organization in the previous year attributed the loss of approximately one year’s worth of Gary Gensler’s text messages to "avoidable errors."
