# QUICK SPARK: This AI Tool Helped Google Do Two Years of Work in Three Months

**Alphabet Inc.** (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) artificial intelligence strategy isn’t just reshaping Search, Cloud and Gemini—it’s transforming how Google builds its own software.

On the company’s second-quarter earnings call, CEO **Sundar Pichai** revealed that Google’s internal AI platform, Antigravity, helped a Chrome engineering team compress what would have been two years of work into just three months.

“A team in Chrome is now on track to accelerate delivery by eight times, compressing a two-year timeline into three months through model-driven refactoring,” Pichai said.

Pichai added that Antigravity, Google’s agentic development platform, now has more than 2.4 million weekly active users and has “completely accelerated how we build internally.”

The comments suggest Google’s AI gains are increasingly happening behind the scenes, not just through consumer-facing products like Gemini.

The trend extends beyond Alphabet. **Microsoft Corp** (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO **Satya Nadella** has said AI now generates 20% to 30% of the code in some Microsoft repositories, while **Meta Platforms, Inc.** (NASDAQ:META) CEO **Mark Zuckerberg** expects AI to write about half of the code for the company’s Llama models within the next year.

For investors, the implication is significant. If AI can consistently shrink software development timelines from years to months, its biggest payoff may not come from chatbot subscriptions alone, but from faster product launches, lower engineering costs and a quicker pace of innovation across Big Tech.
