# SGX, MSCI expand licensing deal for broader derivatives suite

**New futures and options will cover global and emerging Asia sector indexes.**

Singapore Exchange (SGX) and MSCI have signed a licensing agreement to launch futures and options contracts linked to a broader range of MSCI indexes.

The agreement will cover global and regional equity benchmarks, single-country developed and emerging market indexes, and emerging Asia sector indexes.

It expands on an existing partnership that gives investors access to index-based derivatives on one exchange.

SGX Group CEO Loh Boon Chye said the expanded offering would allow investors to manage global equity risk across regions, themes and benchmark suites.

“This is about taking the benchmarks that matter to institutional portfolios and building the infrastructure that makes them tradable, liquid and risk managed,” Loh added.

The contracts are designed to support institutional investors managing multi-regional equity portfolios through a centrally cleared venue in the Asia-Pacific time zone.
