Then you may want to wait a bit, and see what is coming out for 2027. It turns out that Tesla has a lot on tap for 2027, including some vehicles that will no longer be on hand. Investors did not seem happy about Tesla's plans for the new model year, and sent shares slipping nearly 3% in Friday afternoon's trading. ### Claim 55% Off TipRanks High conviction TSLA bears now have this Tradr ETF Reports note that the Cybertruck will likely remain untouched. There is an outside chance that Tesla will roll out new pricing, software, or equipment changes, but otherwise, the Cybertruck is likely to remain the same joyfully clunky, chunky wonder we all know and some of us love. The Model Y is also set to remain similar, because there was a big change for the 2026 model year. However, one big change is that the Model Y will now boast a complete five-seat seating array, after only having an optional third row, reports note. The Model Y L is still set to arrive in 2027, complete with a three-row seating option. And yes, the Model X is still out of the picture as of 2027. A combination of mounting competition and an interest in streamlining operations pulled that one out of the picture, with 2027 being the first year no Model X will be made. ## **Check the Doors** One change, though, that could hit sooner than that—depending on the stance United States regulators ultimately take—is in Tesla's doors. A new rule-making process is apparently in place, designed after a set of incidents emerged in which drivers were trapped in their cars. The new rules are aimed at cars whose door handles are flush with the vehicle, and operated electronically, like those found on Tesla cars. A petition called for new rules that require a mechanical door release that works in the event of an emergency, which honestly just makes sense. Rather than stage a defect investigation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) decided new rules were the route to go. ## **Is Tesla a Buy, Hold or Sell?** Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on TSLA stock based on 10 Buys, 15 Holds, and three Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below.
