Australian media reported that the private credit division of Blackstone Inc. (BX.US) will acquire an Australian loan portfolio worth more than AUD30 billion (approximately HKD164.8 billion) from HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) +0.100 (+0.062%) Short selling $237.10M; Ratio 13.965% , formally entering the Australian mortgage market.

The report said HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) +0.100 (+0.062%) Short selling $237.10M; Ratio 13.965% had originally planned to sell the entire business to National Australia Bank or Macquarie Group, but after the deal collapsed, the assets attracted interest from KKR & Co.
