# OKI Signs Supply Contract with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for Towed Passive Sonar for Australia’s New General-Purpose Frigates

In Tokyo, it was announced that OKI (TOKYO: 6703) has entered into a supply agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. The contract pertains to the provision of towed passive sonar and associated equipment intended for deployment on Australia’s upcoming general-purpose frigates. This arrangement specifically includes equipment for the initial three ships within the planned fleet of eleven new general-purpose frigates sanctioned by the Australian Government. The selection by the Australian Government in August 2025 favored Japan’s FY2024 enhanced Mogami-class frigate, referred to as the "06FFM."
