# Orange Lifts Guidance on Growth in Africa and Middle East and Europe

By Najat Kantouar

Orange raised its full-year guidance after it reported higher revenue in the second-quarter mainly boosted by growth in Africa and Middle East, and Europe.

The French telecommunications company now expects full-year earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization after leases growth to exceed 4%, up from above 3% previously. It also anticipates organic cash flow of around 4.3 billion euros ($4.89 billion) instead of around 4 billion euros previously.

The group still projects capital expenditure to represent about 15% of revenue.

For the second quarter, revenue rose 3.5% on a comparable change basis or 9.2% on a historical change basis to 10.85 billion euros. The increase reflects growth in Africa and Middle East, France and Europe units.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization after leases edged up to 3.53 billion euros, representing an increase of 3.9% on a comparable change basis or 10.4% on a historical change basis.

For the first half, the group reached a record growth in Africa and the Middle East, with 10 million new mobile data customers and a double-digit percentage revenue growth, Orange said.

The board declared an interim dividend of 30 European cents, flat compared to a year earlier.
