# ASMPT Projects 3Q Gross Margin to Remain Stable at ~40%; TCB Remains Core Growth Driver

ASMPT (00522.HK) -8.000 (-5.735%) Short selling $26.16M; Ratio 3.535% Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Katie Xu said the group's overall gross margin is estimated to remain stable at around 40% in 3Q.

Among its businesses, the Semiconductor Solutions (SEMI) segment is expected to see gross margin improve steadily, underpinned by an optimized advanced packaging (AP) product mix, while the Surface Mount Technology Solutions (SMT) segment's gross margin is expected to remain stable in the mid-30% range.

CEO Robin Gerard Ng emphasized that the Thermal Compression Bonding (TCB) business remains the core growth driver. At the same time, rising market demand for high-bandwidth and low-latency AI workloads is driving continuous growth in the photonics business used for high-speed data transmission. 

He voiced confidence that the business can provide a new growth curve. Besides, demand for AI servers will continue to support the development of the SMT business, with clear visibility for performance in 2H.
